TEXAS HILL COUNTRY WINE COUNTRY

TEXAS HILL COUNTRY WINE COUNTRYThe “Country of Texas” hosts over 40 wineries, most in the Hill Country Region, near Austin and San Antonio, Texas. The wine industry was born here in the late 1970's and is already producing over 2 million gallons of wine!

As a whole, Texas has the perfect climate to grow more than 3/4 of all grape varieties found in the United States. Because of this, the wine flavors offered here are nearly endless.

Every season is a good time to visit the Hill Country Wineries. Do you remember the elation of going off to camp as a child? Experience that feeling again when you go to Grape Camp. This camp is offered each February and features seminars and events for wine enthusiasts. February also offers a Wine Lovers' Trail.

Springtime events include SpringFest, the annual non-Commercial Lone Star Wine Competition, the Hill Country Wine & Food Festival, the New Vintage Wine & Art Festival, and the Wine & Wildflower Trail.

At the end of July is the Lone Star State Wine Competition. August hosts the Harvest Wine Trail. In September, Grapevine hosts the increasingly popular Grapefest. October is Texas Wine Month! To celebrate, participate in Uncorking Texas, the Harvest Festival, the Texas Wine and Brew Festival, and many more!
